Yes, golf (and real estate) is my passion. I’ve played at many of the top courses in the world, and my favorites are St. Andrews, Scotland; Royal County Downs, Ireland; and Pacific Dunes in Bandon, Oregon. Before real estate I taught seventh grade history at Robert Gray Middle School in Portland. I’ve been around so long that one of our Realty Trust agents (Joe Fustolo in the Lake Oswego office) was once a student in my seventh grade class. My 15-minutes of fame may come from my cousin: Mark Martin, the Nascar driver of “Viagra”, car #6. In fact, the welcome sign at Batesville, Arkansas, reads “Home of Mark Martin.” I’d like to add, “And Jan Caplener, too.” We moved to Portland from Arkansas when I was five years old, so I’ve been an Oregonian most of my life. I’m a graduate of Oregon State University and a Beaver football season ticket holder. I coached Little League for 15 years, coaching both of my sons - Kevin and Brian. Sports are a big part of my life. I think the team attitude of Realty Trust is due in part because we are all sport enthusiasts. Team leadership is the hallmark of our firm. We bring our own skills and we combine talents to make sure everyone here is successful.
