After our data was delivered to Indigo, our job was to wait. To wait while Indigo crunched the numbers, delivered the details to The Climate Registry, and worked with the independent verifier as they reviewed our submission to provide third party verification of the results: our organizational carbon footprint in metric tons of greenhouse gases. Our hope was to come in under the 1,000 ton marker, which would allow us to submit for simpler, less-expensive verification processing. As we waited, questions arose. Would the data tell us, as we suspected, that agent driving was our number one carbon emitter? And if so, what could we possibly do about that? How do our four offices stack up against each other in terms of emissions? And how do we as a company stack up against other similar-sized service industry companies? Finally, the wait was over. Indigo had our preliminary numbers and was ready to share.
