Today our Hawthorne office unveiled Hawthorne Boulevard’s first public electric vehicle charging station, just in time for the crowds of the 2011 Hawthorne Street Fair.

With the installation, Realty Trust joins other business leaders in sustainability, including Swedish retailer IKEA and Seattle’s Vulcan Real Estate, in bringing Blink ® EV charging stations to the Pacific Northwest. Blink charging stations are built by ECOtality, a leader in clean electric transportation and storage technologies.

Our Hawthorne charging station will be available to the public; it is located in the parking lot behind the office at 5015 SE Hawthorne Boulevard.

Blink charging stations use an industry standard connector and can be used by any EV on the market and coming to market, including Ford Focus, Tesla, Nissan LEAF and the Chevy Volt, among others. ECOtality plans to deploy approximately 14,000 Blink chargers in 18 major cities and metropolitan areas around the country.
