Thelma had Louise. Frodo had Samwise. And as we start the journey to measure our carbon footprint, Realty Trust has realized that we, too, need a road buddy. More than just someone to hold our hand during the angst-producing results portion of the process, we need a partner who can show us the ropes and ensure that we have checks and balances in the process. Because if we’re going to go to do this thing, and ask our agents and staff to spend their valuable time to support this effort, we’re going to do it right.
Fortunately, we didn’t have to look far to find a stellar resource: Earth Advantage Institute. Through Earth Advantage’s Carbon Advantage program, we can have a highly-qualified representative guide us in the data gathering, the application to a third-party resource for vetting and the results interpretation. Enter Indigo Teiwes, director of Carbon Advantage. Part friend, part teacher, part researcher, Indigo brings the necessary skills to encourage, educate and ensure the appropriate level of rigor in our data collection and submission. Indigo’s first order of business? Designing the data-collection tools for our agents and staff.
